Moscow Planetarium

On June 12th, 2011, after comprehensive renovation, Moscow's Planetarium was reopened to the public. At the heart of the 25-m planetarium dome (the largest in Europe) is a UNIVERSARIUM Model IX star projector from Carl Zeiss. This is the third Carl Zeiss planetarium machine put into operation since the facility was inaugurated back in 1929. The two predecessor machines are on exhibit to document stages of planetarium history.
